On the occasion of 30th Founders Day, FIIB

organized the 13th Responsibility Summit,

honoring the vision and legacy of Mr R. K.

Shrivastava, founder of FIIB. According to

him, "Education is for improving the lives

of others and for leaving your community

and world better than you found it." Guided

by his profound vision, FIIB adopted the

sustainability thinking formally in 2011 with

the signing of a Sustainability Policy. What

started as a small initiative 13 years back has

now blossomed into a core pillar of FIIB’s culture

and brand. The 13th edition of the Responsibility

Summit summarizes the institute’s action

in this direction. This year’s theme: "Nudge

Forward: Empowering Change, Transforming

Societies", emphasizes the subtle yet profound

shifts necessary for societal progress.

At the summit in 2023, a distinguished and

seasoned group of professional experts

assembled under one roof to exchange

effective sustainability practices. The guest of

honor Mr Ratnesh Jha, Executive Director of UN

Global Compact Network India, was presented

with the ’Leadership in Sustainability Award’ for

leading the way in sustainable development.

Mr Arpit Sharma, COO at Skill Council for

Green Jobs, engaged in a lively interaction

with students, providing valuable insights and

opportunities in the booming Indian green

industry. He underscored the necessity for

infrastructure to support India's commitments

and highlighted major announcements,

including renewable energy expansion, carbon

emission reduction, and the Green Hydrogen

Mission 2030.

During the summit a decisive moment

unfolded when the students and faculty of

FIIB solemnly pledged to uphold responsibility

and ethical conduct in their endeavors by

taking FIIB’s Responsibility Pledge. Later on

a panel discussion on “Nudging for Good:

Embracing Responsibility and Amplifying

Social Impact" sparked thought-provoking

conversations among industry experts and

thought leaders - Ms Aditi A., Country Director,

Girl Up, UN Foundation, Mr Milan George

Jacob, Communication Specialist, Council on

Energy, Environment and Water, Mr Pradeep

Sangwan, Founder, Healing Himalayas, Prof

Kokil Jain, Dean, Research and Outreach,

Fortune Institute of International Business,

Delhi. The discussion was moderated by

Ms Divyani Diddi, Senior Choice Architect,

Behavioural Insights Architecture & Strategy

Private Limited. The panelists shared their

experiences on embracing responsibility and

creating a nudge in the society.

EVENT

At a time when much needs to be done to

ensure a habitable future for the planet,

platforms like the Responsibility Summit

create a crucial space for discourse on the

way forward. The diverse perspectives that

the session 'Nudging for Good' brought

together on applying behavioural sciences in

several areas, including climate action and

waste management, was highly insightful

and action-oriented. FIIB's initiatives,

like the social internship programme,

are commendable and can nudge the

next generation of leaders towards more

sustainable development.”

Amidst urgent environmental

challenges, forums like FIIB’s

Responsibility Summit facilitate

crucial dialogue. It's heartening to witness

a Higher Education Institution shaping

responsible conduct among students, the flag

bearers of sustainability. The release of FIIB's

Responsibility Report was commendable,

showcasing the institute's commitment to

establishing a lasting legacy of sustainability.”
