JOINT

DEGREE

PROGRAMS

Offer a Specialized Degree Program to your students

Why is a Joint Degree must for Universities?

As per the World Economic Forum, out of the 13 million

people who join India’s workforce each year, only 1 in 4

management professionals, 1 in 5 engineers, and 1 in 10

graduates are employable.

What is the reason for this? One of the main factors for

the graduates not getting employment today is the misfit

between what they learn in college and what the industry

requires. The industry is talking about AI & ML, Data Science,

Analytics and many new-age and must-to-do courses like

these, while the majority of the college curriculums are yet

to get an update as per 2023 industry relevance.

We understand the pain of the universities across India

and acknowledge the issue of how hard it is to offer these

new specializations by the industry experts who are

already working on them. For example, a Lead Data

Scientist at a leading tech firm won’t come to cities

like Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur,

Ahmedabad, or any tier-2 city due to their lack of

availability of time as well as their own limitations.

But what if universities can offer these new-age

specializations to their students along with their Full-Time

Degrees, e.g., a B.Tech. with AI & ML, MBA with Business

Analytics, BBA with UI/UX or BCA with Data Science?

Well, we have decided to solve these problems for Institutes

across the country by offering them Joint Degree Programs

in various specializations in their own campuses.

Imagine if a student has 2 choices in front of them:

A) B.Tech. (CSE)

B) B.Tech. (CSE) with Data Science

Which one do you think will be more beneficial, precise,

and suited for the future career prospects of a student?

Well, almost all of you would agree that the latter is a better

choice.

upGrad Campus has thus started Joint Degree Programs

with a vision that all the institutions can start offering

future-ready specializations to their students. This will

not only help them academically but will also make their

transition into the future workforce smoothly.
