The world has been blessed with the greatest of leaders over the centuries—leaders who changed the course of
events, shaped nations, carved destinies, and rewrote history. These were individuals who influenced the world in
ways that still fuel debates and discussions. Their impact lived on, long after they were gone, resonating through the
years. Leadership once symbolised greatness, whether in political, social, or religious realms.
Today, however, the concept of leadership holds a different perspective. The larger-than-life persona once associated
with a leader is no longer a primary requisite. The ability to lead, yes. Leading a pack, no. What is required now is the
willingness to lead by example, to act as a role model, and to set a benchmark of conduct that inspires others to follow.
It requires the courage to take responsibility not only for oneself but also for the group one represents. A leader does
not necessarily need to be a designated Minister, Principal, or CEO to display these qualities.
We are all leaders in some aspect of our lives, where we must take responsibility, engage in decision-making, and
initiate action. Leadership revolves around managing these facets of our personal or professional lives.
A successful leader creates more leaders, seeks to empower others, and knows how to delegate, train, and facilitate.
We are called upon to demonstrate these leadership qualities as parents, teachers, and students, often in more ways
than we may realise.
Leadership is not a badge of honour; it is about being honourable. It is not a matter of pride; it is about humility. It is
not about individual power; it is about empowerment. Ultimately, leadership is about character, personality, and traits
that elevate us to a higher order of being.
Happy leading until we meet again!
