Message from The Editor

Dear Members,

t the onset, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year. As the

Editorial Chief of Team Spirit, I, CA Shilpa Lahoti, welcomes you all, to the

innovated edition o� �ea� Spirit. � a� happy to announce the ﬁ rst ever

version of a Multilingual edition in the history of Goregaon Sports Club.

Understanding the ever-changing trends, we believe, we must change and go

beyond our boundaries to bring about fresh contents on the plate. With honest

feedback from members, both new and senior, we observed that our magazine

needs new perspective and unexpected surprises.

We have introduced puzzles and crosswords, creating a path towards engagement.

We also have introduced e-magazines which will be available on our GSC Website.

I ensure, GSC will bring about many informative events and fun events in the

near future. GSC is on the journey to be synonymous to grandiose in every activity

conducted. I wish everyone in the Governing Council, all the luck to connect with

members via various initiatives.

In the last edition, we introduced the Senior Citizen lounge which featured

members who are above 75 years of age and with utmost discipline keep their

health in check daily. They use the international standard sports facilities at our

Club regularly with broad smiles on their faces. We had a chance to interact with

more senior citizens in this edition. I wish that all members are highly inspired by

the� to �o��o� a ﬁ tness routine.

I am overwhelmed by the response in the creative corner by our poet and writer

members. We have made sure to feature every poem and article given to us without

any ﬁ �ters. �y editoria� tea� stron��y �e�ieve that it�s the thou�hts and ideas that

matter more than the technicalities.

I would like to congratulate all our buddings sportspersons and talents for achiev-

ing great heights by winning various medals and participating in varied levels like

District Level, State Level, National Level and International Level. I congratulate

Chirag Shetty and Simran Singhi for their iconic victories in Badminton. I wish GSC

youth is motivated to make sports a part of their daily lives.

Dear Members,

t gives me great pleasure to wish Happy New Year. As the President of GSC,

I welcome you all to this special New Year Edition of Team Spirit. With the

support of CA Sanjay Maloo – HGS, Sunil Kabra – Hon. Treasurer and my

governing council members; we are striving to provide you with nothing but

the best through events, infrastructure and services.

Team Spirit. We have some articles written in Hindi and Marathi. I am sure, the

Team will make more articles in regional languages in the coming editions and will

have many member entries as well. Unity in diversity and maintaining traditional

legacy is our vision at Goregaon Sports Club.

I would like to notably congratulate Chirag Shetty and Satwik Rankireddy for

attainin� the Wor�d�s �o. � position �or �ou��e�s �ad�inton. We have �itnessed the

humble family of Chirag Shetty always guiding him and supporting in his journey.

Chirag is one of the most focussed human beings, who has grown exponentially

in his career nothing but pure hard work. We applaud his efforts for consistent

performance and shining results.

I appreciate Vinod Podaar – VP-I for maintaining the Green Kingdom of GSC.

The Summer Coaching Camp Felicitation was the fruit of his leadership which

has highly commendable. He also distributed Tulsi plants to Members on World

Environment Day promoting a the GSC green initiative.

With the active efforts of Bharat Gala – Chairman Projects and the entire team

for introduction of new Otis Lifts. They have been working day in and out in the

renovation process of Pistol Shooting range and Yoga Area. They also have been

active�y �or�in� on the ne� �u�ti��urpose Studio� �hysiotherapy centre and �id�s

Zone.

� a� happy to e�perience the ﬁ rst ever Shiv �ahapuran at GSC �hich �as con�

ducted for 8 days continuously in the morning and evening hours. Members visited

regularly to seek blessings of the divine and participated in the Aarti.

I would like to congratulate Pradeep Jain, VP-II for conducting and organizing

another successful Mango Festival. With overwhelming response, I am happy to

say that it was the most happening Mango festival in the suburbs. I applaud the

efforts of Ramakant Parasrampuria – Chairman F&B for conducting the traditional

Rajasthani Food Festival.

I thank Dr. Mukesh Agrawal – Chairman Medical Cell, for working tirelessly on

�eneﬁ cia� tie�ups �ith reno�ned �ospita�s� dia�nostic centres and a��u�ance

on call services. He has taken true efforts to keep the Health of GSC members in

check. He continues to do so through various Seminars via his initiative of Health

Conclave. Under his guidance, the biggest Mega Health Check-up camp was con-

ducted with more than 30 expert doctors consulting for free. With two successful

CPR training sessions, we will be organizing CPR training every three months at GSC.

Hearty congratulations to Chandrakant Babubhai Agrawal – Chairman Housie for

conductin� series o� uni�ue and success�u� �ousies. �ur C�u� �itnessed its ﬁ rst

ever Mega Gold Housie. With participation of more than 600 participants, Mega

Gold Housie was a grand hit. Silver Housie and Bumper Housie have also received

great response. Under his chairmanship, he also conducted Felicitation of GSC

students and Se�inar �or ��ders� ��po�er�ent �oth �ith the �ocus to �oost the

spirits of the youth and the senior members of the Club.

sure Hunt. Members enthusiastically participated and enjoyed the event. He has

done a fabulous job in Wi-Fi upgradation and transitioning into the Smart Keys for

GSC Rooms. I wish him good luck for the upcoming GSC GM Half Marathon. I urge

all members to inspire their families and friends to participate in the Marathon

and Run for a Better Tomorrow.

Ms. Rakhi Sonigra, Mr. Vivek Narsaria, Mr. Kaushik Mehta, Mr. Someel Shah

and Mr. Satish Agarwal have been constantly organizing various tournaments in

Sports �i�e Snoo�er �o�e�a�a� G��r.� Shutt�er�s Group Cha��en�e� GSC �� series�

GSC �pen �� S�uash �o�e�a�a� Su��er Coachin� Ca�p� Chess �or�shop�

GSC Kondana Caves trek and a lot more. I applaud the enthusiasm of all Sports

Chairmen and Chairpersons to actively involve members in various tournaments

and felicitating wonderful talents in our Club. This is a boost for them to keep their

hea�th and ﬁ tness in chec�.

I congratulate our youngest Tanvi Rao – Chairperson Ladies Wing, Performing

�rts� �o�a and Chi�dren�s �ctivities. She has or�ani�ed Choco �a�oo�a� the �i��est

Yoga Day, Ladies Monsoon Picnic and a lot more with utmost dedication and focus.

I further urge all members to continuously support the Club with active engage-

ment and participation. We will be transitioning in our standard of deliveries through

various innovative events and upgradations.

recision, Passion, Administration has been the foundation of the func-

tioning of Goregaon Sports Club.

I would like to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year and

congratulate all members as we launch this special Multilingual New

Year Edition of Team Spirit which is for the members and of the members. I con-

gratulate CA Shilpa Lahoti – Chairperson Team Spirit for setting new benchmarks

for progressive requirements. I am delighted to be a part of the management with

our dynamic President, Dr. Vinay Jain and our Hon. Treasurer, Shri Sunil Kabra with

all other respectful GC Members. I would like to thank our Mentor Shri Pradeep

Rathodji for continuous guidance in contributing towards the growth of GSC.

Hearty congratulations to our beloved Chirag Shetty for attaining the position of

Wor�d�s �o. � in �ad�inton. �his is a �o�ent o� pride �or the GSC and the nation.

I congratulate his humble family who has always been his guiding light during the

climb on the ladder of success. I am glad that this achievement will be motivating

point for the Youth to climb great heights in the arena of sports. With heartfelt

love & gratitude, we have proposed our Badminton Court to be named in honour

of Chirag Shetty. I would like to further congratulate all the member achievers in

various sports, adding to the recognition of GSC with their victories.

Professional governance is the key to every renowned organization and I have

been given the responsibility to implement professionalism at the Club by Mentors

and President. I take pride in informing our members that our club is now profes-

sionally managed by staff under the leadership of Mr. Vaibhav Manik, Dy. Chief

��ecutive ��ﬁ cer� �s. �eepa Sa�vi� Chie� �peratin� ��ﬁ cer� and �r. �and�u�ar �air�

Manager – Coordination and who are responsible for the smooth functioning and

running of all activities of the club. I convey my gratitude to all the staff members

who work with focus and dedication to provide better daily lifestyle to members.

Under the guidance of Bharat Gala – Chairman Projects, Goregaon Sports

Club has earned the title - “Best Modern Infrastructure Club” of Mumbai. GSC is

continuously transitioning into an aesthetic wonder, no better than a 7-star club.

We have introduced various �ood �oints inside the C�u� �ivin� �e��ers� pa�ate

varied options.

�i�iti�ation is �ore a�out adaptin� to peop�e�s co��ort than techno�o�y. �eop�e

are living one click away from information and services. Aligning with digitized

comfort, we have introduced e-magazine of Team Spirit on GSC Website. The GSC

website is completely functional and available to members. Members can be

informed about upcoming events not only through daily WhatsApp Broadcasts,

but also through the website. Two LED screens have been introduced inside the

premises of the Club. All this was not possible without the active involvement of

Chairman - IT, Mr. Jitendra Gupta and his Team.

Working on the vision of our dynamic President, Dr. Vinay Jain, GSC has become

the hub-spot of well-known Innovative events. With the formation of various Sub

Committees for all Chairmen and Chairpersons, we have been able to conduct

Seminar and Events on various interesting topics with specialized inputs from the

experts of the industry. With knowledge of experts, GSC has conducted mega events

�i�e �an�o �estiva� �� Carna�a � �uch too�ani �arte hai� C�R trainin�� ood

Donation Drive, Mega Health Check-up, Rajasthani Food Festival, Mega Gold Housie

and a lot more. The Club also felicitated GSC Library students for recognizing their

contri�utions and achieve�ents in various ﬁ e�ds o� education. We success�u��y

conducted the ��th Su��er Coachin� Ca�p �herein �any chi�dren participated

in different kinds of sports, under the chairmanship of Vinod Podaar, Vice President

� � �ith the support o� �r. �aushi� �ehta� Chair�an � Cric�et� �s. Ra�hi Soni�ra�

Chairperson – Indoor Sports I and Mr. Pradeep Jain, Chairman - Swimming Pool,

Mr. Someel Shah – Indoor Sports – II, Mr. Satish Agarwal – Chairman Volley Ball,

Tanvi Rao – Chairperson Yoga & Kids initiatives. All the participants were felicitated

by TV Actress Ameesha Patel and Rajeev Mehta who were the Guests of Honour for

the Summer Camp Closing Ceremony. The Outdoor and Indoor Sports have been

proactive as they have been organizing regular Sports Tournaments for Cricket,

Volley Ball, Badminton, Squash, Throwball and the Half Marathon.

With the idea of providing nothing, but the best we have had an upgradation in

the WiFi System of GSC Rooms under the leadership of Harsh Chandak – Chair-

man Rooms. We have also been involved in various Religious Initiatives to seek

blessings of the divine for our family and friends. I thank CA Anil Agrawal for the

organizations of these events.

As the HGS, I commit to support the progressive growth of the Club, Members

t the onset, I wish GSC members, their family & friends Happy New Year.

Notably, as once promised, GSC has been acing the goals set and path

carved towards the betterment of the members. With your support we will

grow progressively. I am delighted to be a part of a dynamic management

which is led by Dr. Vinay Jain - President and CA Sanjay Maloo – Hon. Gen. Secretary.

I earnestly thank all the Founder, Promoter and Governing Council Members for com-

plete guidance and support towards brightening the future of Goregaon Sports Club. I

would like to thank the esteemed members for being compassionate towards the club.

I am honoured to be assigned with the responsibilities of Hon. Treasurer of the club.

Congratulations are on the way to our talented and skilled Arjuna awardee Mr. Chirag

Shetty �or no� �ein� the Wor�d�s �o. � in �ad�inton. We have �itnessed his �ourney

of hard work and focus to make the nation proud. He has given hopes to many young

aspiring sports persons to make a mark in the sports arena.

With transparency as the goal of the administration of the club, we have developed

�een the over� o�in� �ith �innin� success stories in the sports and cu�tura� arena

in the suburbs.

We strictly maintain our system for swift and easy transactions and payment pro-

cesses in the club. Our system of payment approvals with signatures of concerned

sta�� s� Chair�an� C�� nterna� �uditors� �on. �t. �reasurer� �GS and the ﬁ na�

approval of the Hon. Treasurer which has been constantly smooth and appreciated

by our vendors and stake holders.

and Maintenance costs of Rs.5.35 crores, regular expenses like Salaries (increased

as per agreement), mega events, festivities such as HOLI, New Year Bash etc.

Finally, as I had quoted in the earlier edition, “Financial Literacy is a knowledge

you will never lose.” I conclude and commit towards the progressive improvement of

the c�u� throu�h ﬁ nancia� �iteracy and �no��ed�e.
