Dear Members,
As the festive lights of Diwali twinkle and the promise of a
New Year beckons, I, CA Shilpa Lahoti, reach out to you with a
heart full of pride and excitement. In my role as Editorial Head,
Chairperson of Team Spirit and Joint Treasurer, I’ve had the
privilege of witnessing our club’s journey unfolds like a brilliant
book of shared experiences and collective triumphs.
Our Team Spirit isn’t just a magazine; it’s the pulsating
heartbeat of our club, resonating with the energy and passion
of every member. This Diwali Edition 2024 is a milestone to the
vibrant spirit that courses through the veins of Goregaon Sports
Club. It’s a celebration of us - our achievements, our bonds, and
our unwavering commitment to excellence.
None of this would be possible without the visionary
leadership of Dr. Vinay Jain, our esteemed President, the
meticulous guidance of CA Sanjay Maloo, our Hon. Gen.
Secretary, and the financial acumen of Shri Sunil Kabra, our
Hon. Treasurer. Their combined wisdom has been the guiding
light for our endeavours.
But the true magic happens in the trenches, where our
dedicated editorial team works tirelessly, their creativity flowing

I would like to whole heartedly congratulate the entire GSC
family for the monumental achievement of getting a behemoth
FSI of 14 Lakhs square feet by modification of reservation
to “Sports Complex/ Gymkhana” status from the earlier

in the journey towards the future of GSC’s
Infrastructural Development.

be achieved
Dear Members,
As we gather to celebrate the radiant festival of Diwali, I am
filled with immense pride and joy to address you through
this special edition of Team Spirit Magazine 2024. This
year has been an exceptional year for our Club, marked
by numerous achievements, events, and milestones that
have truly exemplified our spirit of unity and excellence.
Firstly, it is with great pride that I am happy to inform
you that our dream of getting FSI Potential released for the
Club is achieved. Our entire Plot reservation now stands
modified from “Recreation Ground” to “Sports Complex /
Gymkhana” thereby releasing Rs. 14 Lakhs Additional FSI
for our club. I congratulate one and all for this historical
achievement of the last two decades and look forward to
a new era at the club from today.
I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the pivotal
role played by our leadership team. A special note of
thanks goes to CA Sanjay Maloo, our Honorary General
Secretary, and Sunil Kabra, our Honorary Treasurer in
the management of the club. Their unwavering support,
financial acumen and strategic guidance have been
instrumental in steering our club towards greater heights.
I extend my heartiest congratulations to our very
own Chirag Shetty for achieving the remarkable feat
of becoming World No. 1 in Badminton. Chirag, your
dedication, skill, and perseverance have not only brought
glory to our club but have also inspired countless aspiring
athletes across the nation. We wish that the youth of
GSC feels greatly inspired and motivated to create many
more World No. 1 in various sports creating a spot for
the Club in the global map. We are immensely proud of
your achievement and wish you continued success in your
future endeavours.
The past year has been an example to our club’s ability
to organize and execute grand events with unparalleled
success. GSC GM Ranga Rang Holi, 2024 was a vibrant
celebration of colours and camaraderie,
bringing together members of all ages in
a joyous festivity. GSC GM Half Marathon,
2024 showcased our commitment to
fitness, community engagement, with
record participation and enthusiasm
from runners across the city.
Our culinary events, the Mango
Festival 2024 and the Wine and Craft
Beer Festival 2024, were gastronomic
delights
that
celebrated
the
rich
flavours of our region and beyond.
These events not only tantalized our
taste buds but also fostered a sense of
cultural appreciation and social bonding
among our members.
The success of these mega-events
would not have been possible without
the tireless efforts of our dedicated
Chairmen
and
Chairpersons,
their
innovative ideas, meticulous planning,
and flawless execution have set new
benchmarks for excellence. I extend
C hirag, your dedication, sk ill, and
perseverance have not only brought
glory to our club but have also
inspired countless aspiring athletes
across the nation.

As we reflect on our achievements,
it’s
crucial
to
emphasize
the
importance of fitness and health in our
lifestyle. The increased participation
in our sports facilities and fitness
programs is a positive indicator
of our members’ growing health
consciousness. I urge each one of
you to continue prioritizing your well-
being, for a healthy body nurtures a
healthy mind and spirit.
It brings me great pleasure to
note the changing lifestyle patterns
among our members. The formation
of various sub-committees has not
only increased participation in club
activities but has also fostered a
sense of ownership and belonging.
Diverse sub-committees like Cricket,
Badminton, Indoor Sports, Health
Club, Educational Initiatives, Food &
Beverages, Religious Events, Ladies
Wing, Cultural Events and many
more have enriched our club life and
strengthened our community bonds.
The inauguration of renovated
facilities viz. Lawn Tennis, Om Peace
& Harmony Yoga Centre, Otis Lift,
Ladies Toilet and the introduction
of innovative events throughout the
year have added new dimensions to
our club experience. These initiatives
reflect our commitment to evolving
with the times while preserving our
rich traditions.
Renovation efforts are currently
underway at the club, focusing on
upgrading the changing room and
wash room facilities in the Badminton
area. Additionally, plans are in motion
to renovate the Pistol Shooting Area,
Multipurpose Hall, “Flavours” Veg.

Membership Office, CCTV Surveillance
Room, enhancing the club’s amenities
for its members. To boost revenue,
the club has processed membership
transfers, allowing new members to
join and enjoy the improved facilities
at GSC. The membership transfer
scheme for new members is closed
and awareness campaign for Ward
Membership
Scheme
with
easy
instalments, for the benefit of the
children of the existing Life Members,
is in full swing as the Life Membership
Fees is going to increase substantially
from November 1, 2024.
As we look ahead, I am filled
with optimism about the future of
our club. The continued support and
active participation of our members
have been the driving force behind
our
success.
Your
enthusiasm,
suggestions,
and
constructive
feedback have been invaluable in
shaping our policies and programs.
In conclusion, I want to express my
deepest gratitude to each and every
member of our club. Your love, support,
and trust have been the cornerstone
of our achievements. As we celebrate
Diwali, let us renew our commitment
to excellence, community service and
personal growth.
May the coming year bring new
opportunities for us to serve our
members better, to create more
memorable
experiences

Dear Members,
As we approach the joyous occasion of Diwali, it is with great
pleasure and a sense of accomplishment that I address you
through this special edition of Team Spirit Magazine 2024. As
your Honorary General Secretary, I am delighted to share with
you the remarkable progress and achievements of our club
over the past year.
I extend my warmest Diwali wishes to all our members
and their families. May this festival of lights bring happiness,
prosperity, and new beginnings to each one of you. Let the
spirit of Diwali illuminate our lives and strengthen the bonds
within our club community.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our
esteemed President, Dr. Vinay Jain, and our Honorary
Treasurer, Mr. Sunil Kabra, for their unwavering support,
guidance from time to time and visionary leadership. Their
visionary leadership and unwavering dedication have propelled
our club to unprecedented levels of achievement and member
contentment.
It gives me immense pride to congratulate our very own
Chirag Shetty on his extraordinary achievement of becoming
World No. 1 in Badminton. Chirag’s success is not just a
personal triumph but a source of inspiration for all our
members, especially our young athletes. This accomplishment
underscores our club’s commitment to nurturing world-class
talent.
I would also like to extend my congratulations to all
our chairmen and chairpersons for organizing a series of
successful events that have been nothing short of smashing
hits. Their dedication, creativity, hard work has ensured that
our club remains a vibrant hub of activity and engagement for
all our members.
The smooth administration of our club is a result of
collaborative effort and I must express my gratitude to Mr.
Nandakumar Nair, Manager - Coordination, Ms. Deepa Salvi,
COO and Mr. Vaibhav Manik, Deputy CEO. Their expertise and
diligence have been crucial in maintaining the high standards
of service that our members have come to expect.
In our pursuit of excellence, we have made significant
strides in enhancing our human resources. The hiring of
professional staff across various departments has elevated
the quality of our services. I am particularly proud to note
that our staff has demonstrated remarkable capability in
conducting mega events with a footfall of
over 8,000 members & guests, ensuring
smooth operations and achieving cent
percent member satisfaction. To express
our gratitude to the staff, this year we also
conducted a musical night with Bhavin
Shastri with the active support of our
beloved President. All staff and vendors
were invited exclusively with their families
to enjoy one evening at GSC dedicated to
their hard work and diligence.
In our ongoing effort to provide the
best experience for our members, we
have
implemented
several
stringent
policies to ensure safety and integrity
of our club. We’ve engaged services
with three established & professional
security agencies that are given different
assignments based on their competencies.
These agencies are given specific task
and training not only to ensure safety of
the members & their family but also to be
polite and humble with the members, who
are the real owners of the Club. Thanks to
the members’ support and adherence to
new rules, we’ve successfully restricted
vehicle entry in such a way that only
