“The Ashokan experience was more than just a
chapter in my life; it was a transformative journey
that shaped the person I am today. When I first
arrived, it felt like stepping into a whole new world.
Joining the women's football team was like finding a
second family. The honour of being appointed co-
captain was a defining moment, thrusting me out of
my comfort zone and into a leadership role that
tested and strengthened me in ways I never
imagined.
Yet, it wasn't only the on-field experiences that
defined my time at Ashoka, but the moments spent
off the field. Together, we shared laughter, tears,
and growth, not only as athletes but as individuals
united by our love for the game. These moments
forged lasting friendships and created memories
that will forever hold a special place in my heart.
One place that really made a difference for me
was the Center for Writing and Communication
(CWC). They helped me with everything from
organising my essays to fixing my grammar
mistakes. It was like having a personal coach for
my writing skills.
As I look back on my journey, I am grateful for the
lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the
growth experienced at Ashoka. It was here that I
learned to face the challenges and seize the
opportunities that lie ahead with confidence and
resilience. I gained some valuable lessons from
both my peers and faculty that I plan to carry
forward with me. One significant insight I learned
from my peers is the importance of balancing
academics with fun. They showed me that it's not
just about studying all the time; having fun is
crucial too. Another important lesson came from
my football team. Being part of the team taught
me that everyone is there to support each other,
and all I have to do is ask. These two lessons have
taught me the importance of collaboration, self-
care, and the power of reaching out when I need
assistance, and I plan to carry them forward
wherever I go.
My advice for new students at Ashoka University:
firstly, explore! Take a variety of courses from
different fields. I did psychology, media studies,
biology, entrepreneurship, performing arts, and
language courses. It helped me figure out what I
really wanted. So, don't be afraid to try new things.
Secondly, get involved outside of class. Play some
sports or join clubs, as it will give you hands-on
experience and opportunities to take on
leadership roles. Plus, it's a great way to meet new
people and make friends. So, keep an open mind,
try new things, and get involved.”
