Lazie Indie Magazine: A Winning Team and a Movement!
Lazie Indie Magazine has achieved a significant milestone, winning the *Best Media Company
– Magazines and Blogs* award at *The Josie Music Awards*, the world’s largest independent
music awards. Kathryn Washington-Shipley, a contributor from the USA, proudly accepted
the honor on behalf of the team.
The magazine began as a small project by Jay Pillai (aka Lazie J) for indie musicians he
interviewed on YouTube. Despite no prior design experience, Jay created a professional-
looking magazine. He soon built a global team of contributors, starting with Inge
Zimmermann-Probst, Jørg, and Ann Elizabeth. Key members include Jay’s childhood musical
partner Manoj TN, *The Granddaughter of Blues Tomiko Dixon, Galaxy107fm, Emma
Goldberg, Kathryn Washington-Shipley, Lyia Meta, Benita Rufus-Gassi, Sherise D’Souza,
Harikrishnan, Brian Tarquin, Adithya KM, Gowri Nair, and Sunder.
