Appreciating the team effort

The Indian power tools industry, an essential segment of

the nation’s manufacturing and construction sectors, is

undergoing a huge transformation due to Internet of Things

(IoT). This technological evolution is changing how power

tools are designed, produced, and utilized, leading to greater

efficiency, safety, and user satisfaction.

Boosting Efficiency and Productivity

IoT technology makes power tools smarter and more

interconnected, offering real-time data and insights that

enhance performance and efficiency. For example, IoT-

enabled power tools can communicate with each other and

central management systems, improving coordination and

operational oversight. This interconnectivity is especially

advantageous in industrial and construction environments,

where numerous tools and machines operate concurrently.

A significant application of IoT is in monitoring the usage

patterns of power tools. Additionally, IoT aids in predictive

maintenance by tracking the health and functionality of

power tools, identifying issues before they result in failures.

This proactive maintenance strategy minimizes downtime

and extends tool life, thus boosting overall productivity.

Enhancing Safety and User Experience

Safety is paramount in power tool usage, and IoT

significantly

elevates

safety

standards.

IoT-enabled

power tools can observe user actions and environmental

conditions, offering real-time feedback and alerts. For

instance, the sensors can automatically shut down the

tools or send warnings, preventing accidents and injuries.

Optimizing Inventory Management and Supply Chains

The reach of IoT in the power tools industry extends

beyond the tools to include broader supply chain and

inventory management systems. IoT devices can monitor

the real-time status and location of tools, providing users

with critical data on stock levels, usage rates, and tool

tracking. This data can optimize inventory management,

reduce waste, and enhance supply chain efficiency.

Merely adopting a cloud-based platform that can

process information in real time can increase onsite

productivity by 50%. As IoT technologies continue

to evolve, their integration into power tools will likely

become even more sophisticated, leading to smarter, more

connected, and more efficient tools.

IoT changing the game for the Indian construction industry

FOREWORD

The construction industry is on the cusp of a significant transformation, driven by

the rapid advancements in technology that are poised to redefine our approach

to building. Central to this transformation is the Internet of Things (IoT), which is

revolutionizing the power tools industry in India.

From the busiest urban centers to the most remote construction sites, the influence

of IoT-enabled power tools is becoming increasingly evident. We are experiencing

a paradigm shift as these tools evolve to become smarter, more interconnected,

and highly efficient. The data generated and harnessed through IoT allows us to

optimize operations, enhance safety measures, and provide exceptional value to

our customers.

At Hilti India, we are proud to lead this technological revolution. Our unwavering

commitment to innovation and a customer-first approach perfectly aligns with the

immense potential of IoT. By integrating IoT into our power tool solutions, we have

brought the Data-Driven Services through Nuron to

our customers, not only elevating the performance

of our products but also fostering a safer and more

productive working environment for all.

As we navigate this exciting new chapter, we are

confident that IoT will play a crucial role in the

evolution of the construction industry. By embracing

this technology and leveraging its full potential, we

will continue to make construction better.

Looking to implement simpler, data-driven asset management in your operations? Now is the perfect time for your jobsites to

benefit from our Data-Driven Services through the ON!Track 3.0 application.

Last year, we introduced our single battery platform, Nuron, and it is proving to be a game-changer in the construction

industry. With its unique 22V platform and diverse range of tools, it boosts jobsite productivity and cuts down on downtime.

Plus, the 22V cordless system is super user-friendly, making tool management easier and safer for everyone.

In today’s busy construction sites, cutting down on administrative overhead and dealing with unclear tool data can really save

time. That’s where Nuron comes in, along with our Data Driven Services. It helps you keep track of your tools effortlessly. The

data on how the tools are used and how well they perform is stored in the batteries and uploaded to the cloud during charging.

This means you always have the insights you need to make smart decisions about optimizing your assets, anytime, anywhere.

Nuron batteries and devices are linked to the Hilti cloud through

IoT technology. Our sensors automatically collect data on location,

utilization, usage patterns, faults, and the power status of Nuron

batteries.

Every time a battery is charged, this data is transmitted to the chargers

and then seamlessly uploaded to the Hilti cloud. This system allows

you to access and analyze the latest information anytime, helping

you identify and optimize unused resources.

The 22V battery system offers valuable insights into your tools,

including the performance status of batteries and information on

tools that aren’t currently in use. This gives you a comprehensive

overview of your equipment, making it easier to optimize your tool

inventory.

As a result, you can avoid unnecessary purchases, schedule

predictive repairs, and maintain a fleet of equipment that perfectly

meets the needs of your projects.

You can quickly check the status of your Nuron batteries – either simply by pressing a button on the battery or scanning it

with the ON!Track 3 app on your smartphone. If a battery loses power, it is marked as defective and can be easily replaced.

The integrated diagnostics function allows you, as a fleet customer,

to keep perfect track of all the information on battery performance.

In the event your batteries suffer a loss of performance, you will

automatically receive a message.

DDS is the first-of-its-kind service launched for power tools in India.
