GCIS KG Newsletter, August 2024

Welcome to interactive presentation, created with Publuu. Enjoy the reading!

Dear Valued Parents,

Greetings from GCIS!

It is a privilege to connect with our youngest and most

dynamic group of parents, who play an essential role in

shaping our vibrant community. I was delighted to meet

some of you at the recent choral recitation event, and I

must say, the performance was truly a visual treat.

In this newsletter, I would like to share some key insights

and best practices that are crucial in the early years of

your child’s education. Three significant aspects have

caught my attention, and I believe they will be beneficial

to all of us as we nurture our young learners together.

1. Learning Through Play

Learning is not just a duty; it is a joyful experience. It is essential to foster this belief in our children from the

earliest age. Play is a powerful tool through which children grasp concepts and make sense of the world around

them. Whether they are in kindergarten or even senior secondary, learning through play encourages joy,

curiosity, and understanding. Therefore, it’s important not to compel children into learning tasks but rather let

them discover and enjoy learning naturally.

2. Active Learning

Children learn best when they are actively engaged in tasks. When they attempt something independently, like

making a clay doll, they may not succeed on their first try. However, through perseverance and practice, they

will develop crucial life skills—patience, fine motor coordination, and problem-solving. This hands-on learning

teaches them to embrace challenges, stay grounded in nature, and remain calm under pressure. These early

lessons will serve them well as they grow.

3. Learning Languages

The early years are a golden period for language development, and children have an incredible ability to learn

multiple languages. It’s important to encourage this at home, particularly by reinforcing their connection to

their mother tongue, which keeps them rooted in their cultural heritage. Learning different languages

enhances creativity, fosters critical thinking, and lays the foundation for a richer, more fulfilling life in the

future.

As always, your involvement and support play a pivotal role in your child’s development. Together, we can

cultivate a learning environment that nurtures curiosity, resilience, and a lifelong love for knowledge.

I would like to thank you for your continued dedication to your child’s learning journey. We value your

partnership and are excited to continue collaborating in providing the best possible start for your little ones.
