Celebrating Community!

This month,

we’ll release

our annual

Impact Report.

From cover

to cover, it

reflects how

supporters

like you make

an enormous

difference in

North Carolina.

All the projects highlighted in the report reflect an

essential element, one that is central to everything we do:

COMMUNITY.

Our impact story is a reminder that PBS North Carolina is

made for and by you, our neighbors. Here’s a snapshot of

what your support made possible last year:

• 72 community events, initiatives, trainings and

presentations impacting over 127,664 people, including

children, parents, caregivers and educators.

• Teachers, caregivers and learners from 81 counties

engaged with our educational resources and services.

• More than 700 teachers participated in professional

development sessions, potentially impacting more than

10,000 learners in their classrooms.

• Our tower network provided infrastructure utilized by over

40 federal, state and local jurisdictions for emergency

communications.

• 3,255 hours of local programs showcasing North Carolina’s

people, places and stories were produced.

When you support PBS North Carolina, you’re investing in

your community and amplifying the diverse and vibrant

cultures that make it home. Thank you for investing in a

brighter future for all.

“SECU Foundation is proud to support PBS North

Carolina’s Year of the Trail series. Our state is home

to miles of beautiful trails, greenways and recreation

areas. We’re excited to highlight these natural wonders

and encourage folks to get out and explore all North

DIY Valentines

Here’s a fun activity for all

you art lovers. First, flatten

a toilet paper roll so it has

a crease on two sides. Push

a crease inward to make

a heart, and wrap tape

around the tube to help

hold the heart’s shape. Pour

paint onto a plate, dip an end of your heart into the

paint and then press it onto paper or a card.

Share your creation with us on Instagram @rootlenc.
