The Educational Foundation of Dexter is dedicated to the enhancement of education in
Dexter Community Schools.
These are some of our highlights for the 2021-22 school year.
Impact Report 2021-22
We had a record number of grant requests in 2021-22 and EFD
funded a record number of those requests.
The Chelsea/Dexter Rivalry Match grows in popularity. The
students in both communities continue to be the real winners of
this friendly competition between neighboring towns.
We resumed our Annual Spring Auction fundraiser this year,
changing it from an in-person event to an online event. It was a
huge success. Changing it to an online auction allowed us to
reach the entire DCS community, instead of just in-person gala
participants.
We Love our Dexter Teachers! This year our Dread Strong
Awards received record nominations. Stay tuned for additional
ways EFD will show appreciation for all of our incredible Dexter
teachers and staff.
Dear Dexter Community:
EFD is so proud to start our 38th year as a foundation that funds
Excellence in Education in Dexter Community Schools. On behalf of
our board of trustees, I’d like to thank all of our supporters over the
many years. Our foundation is unique in that it reaches many
members of our community: K-12 students that benefitted from EFD
grants, parents that volunteered on the board, or individuals &
businesses that contributed to our fundraisers.
EFD could not succeed in our mission to fund educational
programs without this incredible community!
In these challenging past few years, EFD remained strong and
continued to serve Dexter students. Some foundation updates in
2021-22:
On a personal note, this is my seventh year on the board. I am
stepping down as president in 2022-23 and will remain on the EFD
board as Communications Director. I have accepted an exciting
new position as a Michigan Education Foundation (MEF) board
member. MEF is a nonprofit organization that supports Michigan
K-12 public school education foundations through networking,
collaboration, and professional development.
Please join me in welcoming EFD V.P. Mike Cipolla as our incoming
EFD President. He will be awesome in his new role. Let's give him
our full support!
GO DREADS!
