Welcome
from the head teacher
This prospectus aims to give you a glimpse into the
wonderful community and experiences that await
every child if they choose to enrol at Studley High
School. As well as an excellent record of academic
achievement, we offer all of our students wide ranging
opportunities to develop as individuals.
It is our mission to support our learners in developing
into well rounded, happy, thoughtful citizens who can
face challenges with confidence and communicate
effectively.
We aim to convey something of the vibrant but
nurturing atmosphere at Studley High School and
encourage you to visit us at any time to see what we
have to offer.

Success
At Studley High School we strike the right
balance between challenging our students
to achieve their potential and aspiring to
succeed. We develop caring individuals
who appreciate and value the positive
contributions they can make to society and
the lives of others.
We promote the values of respect,
courage, kindness, perseverance, honesty
and creativity in order to support pupils as
they grow and mature.
It is important to inspire youngsters
with our belief that hard work and the
right approach leads to success and helps
promote happiness and wellbeing.

Character
The development of character is
paramount to the success of any individual
as they progress through life. It is our
belief that regardless of background or
prior attainment, every child has the
potential to achieve and play a pivotal and
positive part in any community, locally or
globally.
Our inclusive environment actively
encourages students to participate in and
lead opportunities for themselves and
others.
We believe that anything is possible and
when the right things are done in the right
way, then success will follow.
INTEGRITY
Curriculum
Studley High School offers an array of
subjects to ensure that breadth of study
and personalised pathways for pupils are
available. Many of our GCSE classes are
below 20 in size and our excellent results
reflect the dedication of both students and
staff in securing the best outcomes for all
members of our community.
From their arrival in Year 7 to the time
they leave, students are encouraged
to develop and achieve. High quality
assessment and effective communication
with parents ensure students feel both
challenged and supported.

CREATIVITY
Opportunity
Studley High School ensures students of all
ages can contribute to the school and the
wider community, as well as developing as
individuals.
Our student leadership teams across all
years coordinate a variety of exciting
and wide ranging events and activities
including all areas of the curriculum.
Whether students are learning coaching
or leadership skills in sports or delivering
enrichment lessons to Year 7 drama
groups, there are ample opportunities for
all students to get involved.
Creativity
Encouraging students to be creative is a
vital facet of our school. Music, Drama,
Art and Photography sit at the heart of
the creative curriculum but alongside
these areas are opportunities across all
curriculum areas for pupils to develop
their curiosity and their imaginations.
Music concerts and drama productions
are extremely popular with our students
and whether as a soloist, a choir or rock
band member, there are lots of ways for
students to immerse themselves in school
life.
From Inter-House competitions, specialist
workshops and delivering sessions for
pupils at local primary schools, there
are many ways in which students can
contribute creatively.

Year 11 pupil
The school is proud of its many
sporting successes. Whether as regional
swim champions or county finalists at
football and netball, our students enjoy
participating and working hard towards
competitive goals. In addition, to this we
have a strong culture of participation and
enjoyment through physical activity and
being healthy.
Duke of Edinburgh has a strong, well
established tradition within the school. We
offer many overseas and national trips to
broaden the cultural experiences of our
pupils, from Peru to Paris.
We offer a wide range of after school clubs
and activities so that every student has the
opportunity to develop new skills, talents
or simply enjoy a different dynamic away
from the classroom.
Pastoral Care
RESPECT
Our pastoral systems support the high
standards we expect from our students
in terms of behaviour, appearance and
attitude both inside and out of school.
Studley High School has an excellent
reputation locally as a school that cares
about its pupils. We have small tutor
groups where dedicated tutors work
alongside pastoral managers to ensure the
wellbeing of every child.
Each House is overseen by a Head of Year,
further supporting strong relationships
between families and children. Each
student is also in a House, which develops
a sense of fun, belonging and competition.
We are committed to providing for very
student so that they can enjoy a fulfilling
and successful time at Studley High
School.

The Shires Multi Academy Trust is a
family of high performing, successful,
academies working together to offer
our communities excellent educational
experiences, so that every child within
the Trust can flourish.
There are currently four schools in the
Trust (Webheath Academy Primary
School, Feckenham CE Primary School,
Ridgeway Secondary School and Studley
High School), all serving the Redditch
and Studley area.
Ridgeway Secondary School joined the
Shires MAT in September 2022 and prior
to this had worked very closely with
other Shires schools to support rapid
improvements to the school’s offer, both
academically and pastorally.
Whilst all schools work closely together,
the partnership between Ridgeway
Secondary and Studley High School is set
to get even stronger, as we align provision
and ensure high quality Year 7 places for
over 280 pupils across both schools.
Shires MAT has a clear vision to support
two tier education in the local area.
It is our aim that pupils will progress
through local primary schools (both
MAT primaries and other local primary
schools) to access Year 7 at either
Ridgeway Secondary School or Studley
High School.
We always welcome visits from parents
and prospective pupils and would
encourage you to visit during our Open
Events.
The Trust is looking for opportunities to
expand and further support high quality
provision in our area. We hope that
you enjoy finding out more about our
schools.
