Philippe ROCH

Le mot

Du Président MCI Europe

On behalf of the Masters of the Iberian Horse that I represent, I would like to thank Lieuwe

Koopmans to welcome us in the beautiful facilities of Hippisch Centrum Exloo for the 28th MCI

final

I also thank all the members of the MCI NL association for its participation in the

preparation of this important event, and all the other MCI Europe for their support in recent days.

And of course, not forgetting all the partners who helped publish this brochure.

After a warm welcome in France in 2023, we are particularly happy to be in the Netherlands

this year, which joined the great MCI family in 2018. Thanks to the passionate work of Jacqueline

de Ridder the Iberische dressuur Masters (MCI-NL) even won the Team Cup for the first-time last

year.

I know that for many of you, it is a first to go so far and to cross several countries with your

horses. But what could be more fantastic than discovering a new country with friends.

I am also happy that this year we have the pleasure of celebrating the 10th anniversary of

MCI GB, which is growing rapidly, thanks to Karen Bourdon who works daily on its development.

It became this year in 2024, the largest MCI in Europe.

But the most important thing is to always preserve the famous "Masters atmosphere", which

fills us with pleasure.

And finally, thanks to all of you, riders, trainers, judges, owners, breeders, sponsors and

supporters who are present, despite of the long distance to come here.

Convinced of the success of this event, the European Final will return to France at the

beginning of November 2025, and I await the applications for 2026, 2027 .....

I wish you all a very enjoyable contest, whatever the ranking.

The important thing is to participate and share all these special moments that bring us

together all around the same passion: dressage, Iberian horses and the famous “Masters

atmosphere”

The association MASTERS DU CHEVAL IBERIQUE (MCI)

organizes dressage events every year, with a view to selection for the

European MASTERS final. The aim is to bring together in a friendly

atmosphere all people driven by the same passions: dressage and the

Iberian horse.

The competition is open to all riders, amateurs or professionals

presenting a full-paper horse of Pure Spanish Breed (PRE) or Lusitano

thoroughbred (PSL or LUS)

It was in 1997 that the fabulous adventure of the Masters of

the Iberian Horse began with a first dressage competition in the South

of France.

The world of competitive dressage then opened up to these

riders who were passionate about the Lusitano horse and the Spanish

horse, its history, its culture, its skills in the show, its bravery, its

beauty, its complicity with man.

Since then, 6 new circuits have been born in Europe: Italy

(2001), Belgium (2005), Spain (2009), Great Britain and the Czech

Republic in 2015, in 2018 the Netherlands joined us.

The Masters of the Iberian Horse has become the showcase for

competitive dressage for Iberian horses in Europe by offering high-

quality stage competitions.

• 1200 competitions organized in Europe.

• 3200 different riders from 11 to 84 years old.

• 3700 different horses (including 2050 in France)

• Representing more than 1000 different breeders.

• 600 official judges, from national to international level..

A specific feature that makes our

a festive note, while respecting

the rigor of classical riding.

MASTERS DU CHEVAL IBÉRIQUE

The association MASTERS OF IBERIAN HORSE (MCI) annually organize many

dressage events, for the selection to the European final, which takes place once every

year.

The purpose is to unite in a friendly atmosphere all those with the same passions:

dressage and Iberian horses. The competition is open to all riders, with a full paper horse:

pure Spanish race or pure Lusitanian.

In 1997 some fifteen riders started the story of MCI in France. Who could have imagined, that

28 years later several hundred riders representing fifteen nationalities would have joined the great

family MCI.

Another particularity and not the least: the famous "MCI spirit" which is

not an empty word. All those who have participated even once in these events

confirm it. The dressage competition organizers who often host these events are

always charmed by the atmosphere that reigns there. In any case, we could define

this spirit by a subtle alchemy: a mixture of seriousness in the competition between

the participants but nevertheless competitors, of sharing, conviviality and good

spirit. This is how it is customary to see the competitors of the same event help each

other, welcome newcomers as they should be and applaud the performances of the

other riders.
