Dear Viking Families,
First of all, I am not even sure how to thank you all enough for your support
of our Boosterthon fundraiser! It is because of the effort and enthusiasm of
each of our Viking Faculty, Staff, Students, Families, and Friends that we
had such a fruitful fundraiser! I am truly blown away by the generosity of our
Viking community! A sincere thank you is in order. Today was truly a joyous
and fun occasion on our campus! We had fun, supported each other, and
shared in laughter and love today! I promise that these funds will be used to
upgrade our technology and campus to make our every day life at SJA even
better!
Next week on Friday we will have our first half day on Friday in order to
provide our teachers with time to collaborate and grow in our instructional
practices. We will not have after school bus service on this day. We will have
aftercare on this day for students who can’t be picked up at 12:30pm in
carpool. Aftercare from 12:30pm until 3pm will cost $5 per child. After 3pm
regular aftercare prices will apply to each student in addition to the $5
charge. If you have any questions, please let me know. Despite the
anticipated rain this weekend, I pray that you will all have a restful and
joyous weekend!
Living Our Faith
Our Vikings put their faith into action in many
ways- one of them being acts of service. This
week, our seventh graders visited the Second
Harvest Food Bank, a ministry of the
Archdiocese of New Orleans. They sorted and
packed up food for distribution to those in need,
learned about the aid provided by the
organization, and gained a better understanding
of the importance of volunteer work. We’re so
proud of the exemplary attitudes they displayed
while helping others.

Second Harvest Food Bank
A rained out Mass doesn’t stop our Vikings from
exercising their faith. Our newly elected student
council officers led our school-wide rosary
yesterday morning. They did an exceptional job
and asked when they would have the opportunity
to do so again!
Being that we missed Founder’s Day Mass, we
dedicated the rosary to our school founders who
had the vision and passion to establish a
wonderful place to educate our children in the
Catholic faith. We also prayed for faculty and
staff past, present, & future who have and will
carry out the mission of St. Joan of Arc School
throughout the years. At the same time we
remembered our religious community leaders- ,
Father David, who was wrapping up his
pilgrimage in Mexico, Sr. PC, Father Mixie, and
especially Sr. Lissy, who traveled home to India
recently following the loss of her mother.
Student-Led Rosary
We set a goal of $25,000 for campus and
technology updates and our wonderful
families and friends went above and beyond
and raised a total of $31,500. This means our
students will get to enjoy a day of inflatables
and snacks!
We also gave away some prizes to students
who received pledges Wednesday. Andru
Bourgeois and Sevyn Johnson won SJA
tumblers, and Landon Tribe and Jacob
Dornier won SJA water bottles. Kurt Scales,
Jr. was the lucky winner of a pair of AirPods.
Our top Boosterthon earner was Jordan
Batiste, and Emma Triche, and Colette Haydel
came in second and third, respectively. These
students will be able to slime Mrs. Creppel,
Father David, and Coach Sirera!
We want to thank all our sponsors, our
friends at Boosterthon who facilitated our
efforts, and most importantly our Viking
families who shared information about the
fundraiser with all of their loved ones.
DYK If you made a donation, some
employers will match them. Companies like
Marathon, Shell, and Regions have already
matched! Please reach out to see if your
employer will do the same.

Favorite Part of Working Here:
Teaching the students about Jesus and watching their
relationship with him grow.
Fun Fact:
I can pull our family camper and have hiked 50 miles in
one camping trip.
Lunch with Loved Ones
Lunch with Loved Ones is an exciting way for our
Vikings to enjoy some quality time with their loved
ones and a great opportunity for them to learn how
to treat guests, introduce themselves, and have
conversations with adults. Loved ones will be able to
purchase the hot lunch entree for that day for $6.25
and may pay with the student’s lunch account or
check. Loved ones should check in at the main office
5-10 minutes before their lunch time. They will then
meet students in front of the cafeteria. After enjoying
lunch, they should check back out at the main office.
Please fill out this form by Monday night if you plan
to attend. We look forward to seeing you all
Wednesday!
