Just like the first edition, this edition too

continues to showcase the roots of our

industry while also embracing its evolution.

I hope you enjoy our journey of embarking

on stories that are relevant to our gems and

jewellery industry.

As you turn the pages of this second edition,

I invite you to immerse yourself in the

stories, trends, and insights that make our

industry truly special. And unfurl a world of

insights, views and events.

Mr. Kalpesh Vaghasiya

IMM, Past President, SJMA

Here’s to another chapter of creativity,

collaboration, and growth. I hope you enjoy

exploring the Rootz of our dynamism in the

second edition.

At the outset, I welcome you back to our

pages. Last year, in 2023, you took in the

words of the first edition of our Rootz

Magazine. This year too, I invite you to read

and relish the narratives that ink our pages.

Rootz Magazine was a thought penned to

life, an extension of our erstwhile Rootz

Exhibition which has already established

itself as a distinguished exhibition catering

specifically to the B2B clientele. And this

year too, the magazine continues to carry the

mantle of being another platform for the

gems and jewellery industry of Surat, India

and the world.

This year, 2024 has seen many new chapters

unfold in various nooks, corners and sectors

of the country. And one that stands out for

me is the fact that our very own Surat, the

hub of jewellery manufacturing has been

identified as one of the growth hubs by the

government of India. I am sure that we will

prove our mettle in this matter and see the

name and efforts of our city shine nationally

and globally. The cover story of our

magazine pays an ode to this development.

It feels wonderful and surreal to say this. It was

in 2023 that the seed of a magazine was planted

and in 2024 it has bloomed. Rootz Magazine

was born out of the vision to ink the history,

legacy and future of the gems and jewellery

industry. And today as we commemorate

another year of India's unique B2B Exhibition-Rootz, we

celebrate the second year of its magazine too.

Needless to say, the year 2024 has been a tumultuous one. But

hub in its vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The city has always been

an integral part of the nation's growth story and as can be seen

and jewellery industry growing by 2047. Maybe even more.

This issue of our magazine stands true to our vision- of going

to the Rootz. But at the same time, we also delve into the

branches that have sprouted in the sector, the leaves that have

grown in the industry and growths that have been planted. It is

Come, we invite you once again to lose yourself amongst our

chapters.
