Why we love it

A fascinating

debut as a screenwriter and director by the

prestigious acting coach Gerard Oms, starring

one of his most talented students, Mario

Casas, whose remarkable performance in four

languages earned him the Best Actor award at

the Málaga Film Festival. A Spanish-Dutch co-

production, lmed entirely in the Netherlands,

with a naturalistic and neorealist tone that

is both a social drama about immigration

(approached from the original perspective of

a European lost within the European Union)

and an insightful portrait of a character’s

search for identity, unable to nd his place in

the world and accept his contradictions. The

extraordinary soundtrack is by the renowned

singer and composer Sílvia Pérez Cruz, and

the editing was done by director Neus Ballús,

winner of the Silver Spike at the Valladolid

Seminci for THE ODD-JOB MEN.
