GENERATING

POWER

FOR GEORGIA’S EMCs

ENVIRONMENTALLY

RESPONSIBLE,

SAFE, RELIABLE

AND AFFORDABLE

ELECTRICITY

To power the homes and businesses

of rural and metro communities across

the state, we maintain a balanced and

diverse portfolio of nuclear, natural

gas, pumped-storage hydro and coal

resources to generate the majority of

the electricity that our members deliver

to millions of Georgians every day.

Oglethorpe Power is among the nation’s largest

power supply cooperatives and is one of the

largest energy producers in Georgia. With more

than $16 billion in assets, we own and operate a

diverse portfolio of resources to provide reliable,

affordable, safe and environmentally responsible

energy to 38 consumer-owned, not-for-profit

Electric Membership Cooperatives (EMCs).

Those cooperatives provide retail electricity

to residential, commercial and industrial

consumers — 4.7 million Georgians

across 65% of the state’s land area

in 151 of 159 counties.

WHO

WE ARE

HOW

WE

OPERATE

In an era when electricity fuels everything from traditional

manufacturing to artificial intelligence and electric

vehicles, ensuring a reliable and affordable power supply

is critical. To meet Georgia’s rising electricity demands, we

continue to reshape and grow our generation portfolio in a

way that enhances system reliability and reduces carbon

emissions while keeping the costs down and the power

on for the millions of Georgians our members serve.

EVOLVING ENERGY

LANDSCAPE

Oglethorpe Power and our members are committed to

responding to evolving consumer expectations and

meeting the demands of a cleaner energy landscape.

By the end of 2025, we project that emission-free

energy will account for nearly 50%1 of our diverse

generation portfolio. Contributing to our emission-free

capacity is our 30% ownership of nuclear energy

from Plant Vogtle, the largest generator of clean

energy in the United States.

Our members also make significant investments in

renewable energy, either directly or through their

membership in Green Power EMC, a related renewable

energy company owned by the same EMCs that own

Oglethorpe Power.

1 Includes Smarr EMC and Green Power EMC. Output from pumped-storage hydro is excluded.

Oglethorpe Power is committed to meeting our members’

growing power supply needs with reliable, affordable, safe and

environmentally responsible energy. To do so, we own and operate

a balanced and diverse resource portfolio of 16 generation assets,

including nuclear, natural gas, pumped-storage hydro and coal,

totaling more than 9,3001 megawatts of capacity. These assets are

located in predominantly rural communities throughout the state.

While power generation is our core business, Oglethorpe Power’s

focus extends beyond producing reliable, cost-effective electricity.

We are an active corporate citizen in many rural communities

throughout Georgia where we own assets, and we are dedicated

to being an engaged and responsible neighbor. To help promote

vitality and growth in these rural communities, we are proud to

partner with local leaders and organizations to invest our time and

resources, with an emphasis on underserved youth and enabling

development through leadership and education programs.
