WARDROBE

RESET

As the seasons change, so should our wardrobes. If you’ve ever stood in front of your

closet feeling overwhelmed by clutter yet convinced you have nothing to wear, it’s time for a

wardrobe reset. Organizing your closet not only simplifies your daily routine but also

refreshes your style and boosts confidence. Here’s how to hit the reset button and create a

closet that works for you.

A Fresh Start to Style and Organization

Keep: Items you love,

wear often, and feel

confident in.

Donate/Sell: Pieces in

good condition that no

longer fit your style or needs.

Discard: Worn-out,

damaged, or outdated items

that can’t be repurposed.

Create a Capsule

Wardrobe

Declutter with Purpose

Start by taking everything out of your closet. Yes—

everything. This allows you to see what you have

and evaluate each item. Use the Three-Pile Method:

If you haven’t worn it in over a year, it might be

time to let it go. A streamlined closet means less

stress and more outfit possibilities.

Organize Like a Pro

Once you’ve narrowed down your wardrobe, it’s

time to organize strategically:

Categorize by Type: Group similar items

together—shirts, pants, dresses, etc.

Color Coordination: Arranging clothes by color

makes outfit selection easier.

Use Matching Hangers: Uniform hangers

create a cohesive, clean look.

Invest in Storage Solutions: Use bins, drawer

dividers, & shelf organizers to maximize space.

A capsule wardrobe consists of

versatile, high-quality pieces that

can be mixed and matched

effortlessly. Invest in wardrobe

staples like a classic blazer, a well-

fitted pair of jeans, neutral tops,

and comfortable yet stylish

footwear. Not only will this

minimize clutter, but it will also

ensure you always have go-to

outfits that make you feel polished

and put together.

10 Must Have Fashion Trends

To Take From the Runway to Your Closet

TAILORED

STREET

EDGE1

Combining street style with

tailoring creates a fresh fashion

edge that blends relaxed cool

vibe with refined sophistication.

Victoria Beckham showcased

this trend on her Spring 2025

Runway, where she paired her

crisp blazers with relaxed

trousers and sporty sneakers.

Imagine layering an oversized

hoodie under a fitted coat or

styling tailored shorts with a

graphic tee; this juxtaposition

adds visual interest and

versatility. This approach

encourages individual

expression, as each outfit can

be personalized with

accessories and textures,

making it a favorite among

fashion-forward thinkers who

want to balance comfort with

style.

BODYSUITS

ARE BACK

Bodysuits are making a

stylish comeback,

reemerging as a bold

fashion staple that blends

comfort with chic design.

Today’s bodysuits

embrace a wider array of

textures, cuts, and

embellishments,

transforming them into

versatile fashion

statements. Kendall

Jenner showcased this

trend when she strutted

down the Schiaparelli

runway in a striking

bodysuit that epitomized

the brand’s avant-garde

aesthetic. To incorporate

this trend into your

wardrobe, try pairing a

fitted bodysuit with high-

waisted trousers or a

flowing skirt and knee high

boots for a balanced look.

On the Chloé runway, bag charms took center

stage, adding a playful yet sophisticated touch to

the collection. To embrace this trend, consider

adding a few unique bag charms to your favorite

handbags; whether you choose bold colors or

delicate designs, they can instantly elevate your

look and make your accessories feel fresh and

personal.

The golden rule of summer

skincare? Never skip sunscreen!

Protecting your skin from

Achieving a Glow (Safely!)

A bronzed look without sun

tanners are the best way to

achieve that golden glow

without the risk of premature

aging or skin cancer. Prep

your skin by exfoliating and

moisturizing dry areas like

elbows and knees before

application.

Hydration & After-Sun

Sun exposure can dry out

and irritate your skin, so

keeping it hydrated is a

must. After a long day in the

Financial Tips from a Former Miss Rhode Island

Turned Wall Street Expert

Money Matters

By: Caroline Parente

My year spent as Miss Rhode Island in the

Miss America Opportunity was the most

rewarding experience of my life; yet the

opportunity did not end with a new title.

Instead, I concluded my time as Miss Rhode

Island with incredible scholarships and a

network beyond my wildest imagination.

Upon relinquishing my title, I began a career

on Wall Street working in investment

banking. The learning curve was steep, but I

quickly realized that my most formidable

challenge as I began adulthood in New York

City would be personal finances. In case you

haven’t heard, New York is quite expensive.

So at the same time that I set out to make

my mark into the financial capital of the

world, I find myself grappling with how to

master my own personal finances. As I

sought out tips and tricks, I found myself

wishing financial literacy was taught to high

schoolers – especially young girls – far more

than current curriculum allows. Here are the

“Three B’s” I wish I knew before going off to

college:

Be Vigilant:

It is important to get in the habit of

checking on your finances often. At the

very least, be sure to check your bank

accounts and look over your transactions

once per week. Apps like RocketMoney

and Simplifi allow you to review

transactions on your phone from all of your

accounts and cards at the same time.

Build Credit:

This was the advice proffered by every

adult in my life as I was growing up, and it

is true. The earlier you can get a credit card

and learn safe spending habits, the better. I

find it best to set strict spending limits

when first starting out. Even if you only put

a few purchases on your credit card per

month, starting early goes a long way in

building a strong credit score.

This will be very important down the line,

especially if you are hoping to rent an

apartment in a major city.

Budgeting 101:

Find the budgeting guidelines that work best

for you and your financial goals and check

up on them often. If you are unsure where to

start, the 50/30/20 rule is a great launching

point. This means 50% of your earnings go

towards needs (housing, groceries, gas, all

the pretty boring stuff), 30% goes toward

wants (the fun stuff: travel, restaurants,

subscriptions, or my personal favorite, Miss

America merch), and 20% goes towards

savings and loans. Depending on your goals,

you can shift these percentages accordingly.

By using an app, or, dare I say, making a

spreadsheet of your own finances, you can

clearly see exactly where your money is

going and plan where it should be going.

If you want to deepen your financial

knowledge, consider adding these books to

your reading list. For a strong foundation in

personal finance, “How to Money” by Jean

Chatzky, Katherine Tuggle, and the

HerMoney Team offers essential guidance. If

you're looking to explore the world of

investing, “Girls That Invest” by Simran Kaur

breaks down key concepts in an accessible

way. And for young women aspiring to be in

leadership and entrepreneurship, “Girls Who

Run the World: 31 CEOs Who Mean

Business” by Diana Kapp provides inspiring

stories of female business leaders who have

made their mark.

For many young women, the Miss America stage is more than just a runway—it’s a

launchpad to opportunity. Beyond the gowns, the spotlights, and the talent performances

lies something even more transformative: life-changing scholarships that open doors to

higher education and future careers.

Year after year, the Miss America organization stands as one of the largest scholarship

providers for women in the United States. Whether you’re competing at the local, state, or

national level, there are financial opportunities designed to help young women invest in

their futures.

Behind every rhinestone crown is a scholarship —and for many Miss America and Miss

America’s Teen contestants, that scholarship is a game-changer. Each year, the

organization awards over $5 million in tuition scholarships to women nationwide, along with

millions more in in-kind educational support. These scholarships don’t just help pay for

college—they empower women to pursue their ambitions with confidence and clarity.

Opportunities&

The 2025 Miss America winner received a $50,000

tuition scholarship, a life-changing boost toward her

educational goals. Meanwhile, Miss America’s Teen 2025

was awarded the choice between a $50,000 tuition

scholarship to an accredited school or a four-year

scholarship to the University of Alabama—a university

now well-known to Gen Z as the home of “Bama Rush.”

Miss America Abbie Stockard is living proof that the Miss

America organization isn’t just about competition—it’s

about creating real opportunities. “I have received over

$86,000 from the Miss America scholarship program. Not

only is it paving my way through college debt-free,

but it is also allowing me to obtain my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Auburn

University in order to one day become a Pediatric Nurse Anesthetist.”

Like many contestants, Abbie originally competed for the scholarship benefits, but she

quickly discovered that the organization offered so much more. “This organization has

helped me cultivate my style and showcase my confidence and individuality no matter the

occasion. I have acquired skill sets such as communication, outreach, and networking that

will allow me to be successful beyond the title of Miss Alabama.”

For Abbie, the journey was about personal growth, leadership, and developing skills that

would serve her well beyond the competition. “I learned how to be an effective brand

ambassador and how to secure sustainable partnerships. I was also able to go on this

journey with like-minded women by my side. My journey has shown me the power of this

organization in that it brings women in, builds them up, and sends them out to be the

change-makers that our world needs today.”

If you’re a young woman with big dreams—whether in academics, leadership, or community

impact—Miss America and Miss America’s Teen offer more than just a stage. It’s an

opportunity to gain financial support for your education, develop professional skills, and join

a network of ambitious and accomplished women.

The competition isn’t just about winning a crown—it’s about becoming a role model, an

advocate, and a future leader. As Abbie Stockard puts it, “All it takes is someone who has a

true heart and passion for this organization.”If you’re ready to invest in your future, the stage

is set. Sign up today and take the first step toward scholarships, self-discovery, and

success!
