Our camps are spread out from the far west to the eastern coast, allowing guests
to experience a diversity in landscape and flora and fauna across the vast and
wonderful Tanzania.
Foxes camps and lodges are in the much less frequented Southern half of the
country, where you are more likely to see huge herds of animals than huge
hoards of game vehicles.

Tanzania’s Southern National Parks are
some of the largest and most remote in all
of Africa.
As a convergence zone between Sub-
Saharan Africa’s Southern and Eastern
wildlife areas, these National Parks have
the greatest variety of species, including,
The Greater and Lesser Kudu, striped and
Spotted Hyena. Despite the fame of The
Serengeti, most of Tanzania’s protected
areas are in the South of Tanzania.
Whilst the wildlife is in its masses, tourism is
not, guaranteeing visitors see herds of
animals, rather than hordes of people. One can
enjoy wildlife sightings in peace, with no rush
to move on.
Not only is there a great variety of species in
Southern Tanzania, but also its terrain and
topography. Each national park has its own
uniqueness and feeling, ensuring you never
bore of your surroundings.

Foxes Safari Camps were the first safari lodges to open in the South of Tanzania in 1982. This meant
that we had the first choice in the very best locations on offer. As a family company, we take the
quality of our lodges very seriously and work together to make guests' stay with us unforgettable.
Now onto the third generation of Fox, more and more has been learnt to maximise our guests'
experiences.
You will see our contributions to the safari industry throughout the country, including specially adapted
open game vehicles, which we first introduced to Tanzania in the 1980s.

We are able to look after our guests from the moment they arrive in the country, to the moment they
depart. With meet and greet services at Dar es Salaam airport, hotel transfers, and our own bush airline,
logistics are all taken care of.
Using our sister company, Safari Air Link, we can transport our guests across Tanzania’s tourist
destinations at great speed, reducing the journey time, and increasing safari time.
Our game package offers includes airstrip transfers, full board accommodation, game drives, tea,
coffee, and laundry.

Environmental and social sustainability
was, and always will be the motivating
factor for the Fox Family's ventures.
The surrounding area and community
have been a focal point for the company,
long before it was fashionable.
The Friends of Ruaha Society, founded by
Geoff Fox, with major contributions by
Peter and Bruce Fox, was set up in 1984
with the aim of conserving Ruaha National
Park and its surrounding game reserves. Key
methods used to achieve the aim include
education, ensuring the location people
understood the balance between themselves,
wildlife, and the environment.
It is clear that sustainable tourism is the
key to both educating people about the
importance of our ecosystems, as well as a
way of funding the conservation of the
environment and local communities.

Carbon Negative
Foxes work hard to ensure that we give
more than we take. Throughout the camp
and
bush
airline
operations,
we
continually strive to reduce our carbon
emissions, and have done so with
success.
It is most organisations goal to become
carbon neutral. This is a term used to
describe a situation whereby the carbon
emissions caused by an entity are
balanced out by reducing emissions
elsewhere, usually through funding third
parties.
We, at Foxes Safari Camps, have gone
two
steps
further
by
becoming
organically carbon negative.
We
offset
more
carbon
though
sequestration than we contribute to the
environment - and all by our own means.
Our afforestation projects sequester
<60,000 tonnes of carbon per year.
This figure is 30 times the amount of
carbon our entire operations emit per
year.
A stay with Foxes Safari Camps is truly
guilt free.
In tandem to these efforts, over the last
two decades, we have been planting trees
on land otherwise baron.
On our last forestry audit, it was
concluded that 3,678,000 trees had been
planted over an area of 9,000 acres.
