As we present this edition of The Scholar’s Sphere, we reflect on the boundless potential that defines each student

and educator within our vibrant community. In recent months, we have celebrated numerous accomplishments—from

academic accolades to inspiring global interactions—that together create the fabric of growth and ambition at GCIS.

Our AS Level Team’s impressive third-place finish at the India Case Study Competition exemplifies the tenacity and

innovative thinking we strive to foster. Congratulations to all the students for their remarkable achievement that

highlights their dedication and our shared commitment to excellence.

This issue brings stories of empowerment through unique programs, such as the AFS Effect+ Workshop, where our

students explored global citizenship, and the Pathway to Global Classrooms Workshop, where our teachers delved

into strategies for embracing diversity. These experiences shape the compassionate, informed individuals our world

needs.

On the co-curricular front, our students have excelled with vigour and passion. Aiden’s strategic prowess led him to

secure 8th place at the state-level chess tournament, Janaya’s gold medal in Taekwondo at VIFA GEWINN India Open

is a testament to her resilience, and Mithra Damodharan shone brightly in rhythmic gymnastics at the ISSO Nationals.

Each achievement is a story of dedication, practice, and the joy of pursuing one’s dreams.

At GCIS, we also honour the cultural celebrations and projects that infuse our community with learning and joy. From

the rich traditions of Dussehra and Onam to creative initiatives like the ‘Around the World in a Brochure’ project and

hands-on experiments in Cambridge classrooms, our students and teachers continue to embrace learning in all its

forms.

As we celebrate these milestones, let’s keep nurturing curiosity, compassion, and a relentless drive for excellence in

our students and ourselves. Here’s to guiding dreams and to many more chapters of achievement and joy.

A child is like a butterfly in the wind.

Some can fly higher than others,

But each one flies the best it can.

Why compare one against the other?

Each one is special—each one is beautiful.

At Global City, we let them soar,

Each child’s flight, unique and pure.

Some will dance in rays of light,

Others will blossom in their own time, just right.

No race to win, no need to rush,

Each one’s journey deserves a hush.

To cheer them on, to let them grow,

With love and guidance, watch them glow.

Their wings may flutter at a pace,

That’s perfect for their personal grace.

In our classrooms, we see the spark,

Nurturing each in their own arc.

Parents, join us in this quest,

To let them fly, to give their best.

For in their hearts, the dreams will rise,

As we lift them gently towards the skies.

Their strengths, their hopes, their gentle flight,

Will light the world, so clear and bright.

For every child is meant to soar,

In their own time, they’ll reach the shore.

Each one is special—each one is bright,

A butterfly, taking wondrous flight.

At Global City, we guide their way,

To grow, to learn, to shine each day.

As the festive season graces us with its warmth and joy, I would like to extend my heartfelt wishes to all our

wonderful students and their families. Just like a butterfly in the wind, every child at Global City

International School has their own unique path to follow, and during this season of celebration, let’s cherish

the beauty in every step they take.

May this time bring happiness, peace, and togetherness to your homes, as we continue to nurture the

dreams and aspirations of our students. Each child’s journey is a bright light, and together, we will guide

them towards new heights, encouraging them to soar with confidence, joy, and grace.

Wishing you all a season filled with laughter, love, and togetherness. May the Almighty, the source of light,

fill your minds and hearts with peace and joy, and your families and communities with grace and happiness!

“Happy Diwali to all!”

The Pathway to Global Classrooms for Educators workshop is a transformative programme designed to equip teachers

with the skills and strategies needed to create globally inclusive classrooms. By focusing on the recognition of cultural

differences and the importance of fostering safe, multicultural learning environments, this workshop empowers

educators to celebrate diversity and inspire global citizenship in their students.

Five teachers from our school participated in this workshop, gaining valuable insights into bridging cultural gaps and

promoting intercultural understanding. Through interactive sessions and collaborative activities, they learned to

implement inclusive practices and create classrooms that encourage respect, empathy, and collaboration. With these

new tools, our educators are now better equipped to prepare students for a diverse, interconnected world.
