Fellow Community Members,
I'm writing to you as a relatively "new" president of
JFS. Although it's been nearly five months that I’ve
been president, I continually feel that I'm learning
more and more about all the services that JFS
provides. I want to invite you on the same journey
whether or not you've been a client of JFS, you’re
familiar with some, maybe many, of our programs
and services or you are new to the agency. Please visit our website
(jfsmiddlesex.org), sign up for our weekly eblast, and attend JFS
programs and community events. Help us to more fully develop the
support our staff and volunteers provide for the many members of our
communities by asking questions and offering suggestions.
Remember, one of the values of our tradition is not waiting to be asked
for an opinion. Our staff and volunteers are always looking for ways to
meet more of the needs of our clients and general community and are
eager to hear from you.
I encourage you to email JFS at office@jfsmiddlesex.org or me at
sandyhecno1@aol.com with your questions and comments. We all
benefit from a continuing mutual dialogue. Looking forward to meeting
many more of our community members.
Sol B. Heckelman
JFS Board President
Dear JFS Friends and Family:
We are so happy to finally welcome you back in person after our last One
Community Gala in 2019. Shakespeare said that “Parting is such sweet sorrow” but,
after years of the pandemic, we know it is not the parting but the months and years
apart that make our reunion so sweet.
Thank you for your support as we continue to see more and more community
members come to JFS for help. In the first six months of this year, we expect to serve:
Our JFS board, staff and volunteers deserve special recognition for keeping up with
the dramatic increases in requests for food, mental health counseling, employment
and immigration services, kosher meals on wheels, and more. The JFS Women’s
Center continues to help women become self-sufficient after the loss of a partner,
and our Department of Justice Accredited Immigration Services are working hard to
reunite immigrant families and help new citizens realize their American dream.
Your support keeps us going – your contribution feeds, educates, counsels, and
empowers local families. At JFS, 95 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to our
programs. We are honored to have your support as, together, we serve our
community with strength, dignity and compassion.
Thank you for being part of our JFS family.
We wish you and your loved ones good
health and happiness.
